DLA Piper advises Qatar Investment Authority on HyperLight's US$80 million Series C financing
DLA Piper advised Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, in connection with HyperLight’s US$80 million Series C funding round. HyperLight is a developer of thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic chips that enable high-speed, energy-efficient optical connectivity for next-generation AI infrastructure, data centers, telecommunication networks, and computing applications.
The new capital will support the expansion of HyperLight’s manufacturing capacity, accelerate customer qualification, scale deployment of its TFLN Chiplet™ Platform, and deepen partnerships across the foundry, semiconductor, networking, and systems integration domains.
The DLA Piper deal team was co-led by Partners Dr. Ehab Elsonbaty and Charles Torres and included Associates Taylor Mielnicki, Marcos Taiana, and James Lee (all New York). Additional support was provided by Partners Andrew Kreisberg (Tax) and Christine Daya (CFIUS), and Associates Joshua Lingerfelt (Tax) and Matthew Larson (CFIUS).
