Alex Ye focuses his practice on public and private cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, corporate governance, securities and leveraged finance.

Alex’s track record encompasses a diversity of jurisdictions and sectors. He advises international purchasers, sellers and sponsors in inbound and outbound Chinese and Asian mergers and acquisitions as well as related debt and equity financings.

He has worked on and led deals across a wide range of sectors including technology, financial institutions, insurance, telecommunications, healthcare, life sciences, energy, advanced manufacturing and hospitality. Alex is a senior lead lawyer in both our Hong Kong and Greater China corporate teams. He is also a member of our Global Insurance Sector Group.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising Scientia Technologies, a Chinese technology solutions and services provider to government and private enterprise clients, in a USD600 million equity investment from an affiliate of Hopson Development Holdings Limited, a Hong Kong-listed Chinese property developer.
  • Advising Charles River Laboratories on a number of acquisitions in the PRC.
  • Advising a NYSE-listed retail group in the restructuring and sale of its Greater China business operations.
  • Advising a NYSE-listed professional services firm in a prospective auction sale of certain business groups.
  • Advising a U.S. private equity fund and Wilson HCG Group on the acquisition of the Profile Group, an executive-search group with business in Hong Kong and Singapore.
  • Advising Ping An Insurance Group in respect of multiple corporate transactions across its portfolio companies.
  • Advising Ping An Overseas Holdings in a USD150 million equity investment in GDS Holdings Limited, a NASDAQ-listed developer and operator of high-performance data centers in China.
  • Advising Marsh & McLennan Companies in their global post-acquisition integration (with the former Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group) of their Asia-Pacific businesses.
  • Advising Kerry Logistics on the acquisitions of a US freight forwarding business, Apex Maritime and its affiliated companies and an Asia-Pacific logistics group.
  • Advising Hilton Hotels in the corporate aspects of an international franchising agreement with a Chinese state-owned entity.
