DLA Piper advises Exacta Asia Investment in Series A financing of esports gaming company Mineski Global

DLA Piper has advised Exacta Asia Investment II LP, a Singapore based private equity fund of Mizuho Asia Partners, in a Series A funding round of USD10.6 million for Mineski Global, the Southeast Asia based esports gaming organisation. Endeavour Catalyst, the corporate venture capital investment arm of New York firm Endeavour Global also participated in the fundraising.

Mineski Global, commonly known as Mineski, was established in the Philippines in 2004. It is a trailblazer in the esports gaming industry in Southeast Asia with a mission to disrupt the status quo and unlock the gamer in everyone. Specialising in gamification technology, it provides a variety of services to both gamers and businesses, and is known for its esports leagues, platforms and content, as well as tours and events throughout the Philippines and Southeast Asia. The company has partnerships with many high profile global brands including Tencent, Acer, Plan B and Oreo to name a few.

Exacta Asia Investment II LP invests in promising mid-cap companies in Southeast Asia. It aims to establish partnerships with seasoned entrepreneurs to help maximize their companies’ potential by unlocking synergies with corporate Japan.

The transaction was led by Joe Bauerschmidt, Country Managing Partner for DLA Piper Singapore and Head of Capital Markets in Southeast Asia, with support from associate Karen Lee.

Commenting on the deal, Joe said: “This is an exciting moment for the esports and gaming industry in the region. We are pleased to have advised Exacta on its strategic investment and look forward to seeing what the next stage of growth holds for Mineski Global.”
