DLA Piper makes new International Corporate Reorganizations hire to its London tax team

DLA Piper has appointed Keunyoung Oh as a partner in its London tax team, joining on 1 November. She joins from Baker McKenzie in London and is an established dual-qualified (Chartered Accountant and Solicitor) tax adviser with 13 years of technical corporate tax experience, specialising in leading complex International Corporate Reorganization (ICR) projects.

DLA Piper is one of very few law firms that has a dedicated ICR subgroup, led by a team drawn from its corporate and tax practice groups. Keunyoung’s appointment will further cement DLA Piper’s leading reputation in this area.

Keunyoung’s appointment is in line with the Tax Group’s strategy to reinforce specialisation within the UK and across its international offices. In recent years there has been significant growth in ICR activity, both in the UK and in the US. The strength of the ICR practice continues to be underpinned by close collaboration across DLA Piper’s international offices and the ability of the London tax team, among others, to act as a hub for the coordination of multi-jurisdictional ICR projects.

Ben Brown, UK Head of Tax at DLA Piper, commented: “Keunyoung is an impressive and highly motivated tax practitioner who has developed a deep expertise in running International Corporate Reorganization projects. Her appointment will strongly support the wider UK tax team’s aim to develop deep specialisms in areas core to our practice and will help to further develop our ICR offering across our international offices.  We look forward to Keunyoung joining the team and to her contribution to the continued success of the Tax practice.”
