Dr Carmen Födisch advises German and international companies throughout the entire value chain; from procurement and manufacturing to sales and distribution of both physical as well as digital products.

She is specialized in commercial law, with particular focus on the drafting, negotiation and review of agreements and general terms and conditions for the operational business in the context of national and international trade, as well as in all procurement and distribution related questions.

Her practice includes advising German and international companies from the automotive and technology sectors as well as industrial and consumer goods sectors.

Due to her thesis in data protection law, Dr Carmen Födisch has a strong data law background and is regularly advising on projects related to monetization of data internally and externally.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising an international truck manufacturer on the development of a charging infrastructure network in several jurisdictions in Europe and drafting commercial agreements for the business model. 
  • Seconded to an US based OEM as leading European legal counsel for complex commercial contracts in B2B relations, in particular as dedicated point of contact for all legal questions relating to procurement, transportation, warehousing, development and cooperation matters, and focus on improving ways of working and increasing efficiency in the legal support.
  • Advising a vehicle manufacturer for electromobility in the context of market entry and on strategic co-operations with business partners.
  • Drafting commercial agreements for a supplier of the automotive industry with suppliers, customers and co-operation partners.
  • Advising a supplier in the industrial sector with respect to a modular purchasing framework comprising general terms and conditions and templates for development and supply services.
  • Advising a worldwide operating producer of chemicals with regard to the development of a global compliance framework for intensive usage of data including monetization.

Prior Experience

Before joining DLA Piper in 2021, Dr Carmen Födisch worked during her legal traineeship (2019-2021), inter alia, in the legal department of an internet search engine provider, in a boutique for intellectual property, copyright & media law and pharmaceutical law, at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in Berlin and at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Yangon, Myanmar. Prior to that, she gained professional experience as a research assistant for a leading international law firm in Hamburg (Information Technology practice group, in particular Data Protection Law).
