Thomas Reynolds Named to Hispanic National Bar Association’s “Top Lawyers Under 40” List

DLA Piper associate Thomas Reynolds has been named a “Top Lawyer Under 40” by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) in its annual list highlighting attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession.

According to the HNBA, the honorees are “exceptionally accomplished lawyers who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community and dedication to improving the legal profession.”

In addition to his practice in the area of international trade and investment law, Reynolds has represented clients in a variety of pro bono matters, including those involving special education law, criminal defense and civil rights. He regularly uses the Spanish language to communicate with clients and develop stronger cases for immigration relief.

“I am honored and humbled to be recognized by the HNBA, which is an organization that includes many extraordinary attorneys and has been such a force for positive change in the legal profession. I am also grateful to DLA Piper for the support of HNBA and its mission and for enabling me to pursue my personal and professional goals,” said Reynolds. “Giving back to others and ‘paying it forward’ is a cornerstone of my professional philosophy.”

“This award is a testament to Tom’s commitment to serving others,” said Edward “Smitty” Smith, chair of DLA Piper’s Regulatory and Government Affairs practice and National Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) partner.  “We are proud to call him a colleague and look forward to what he accomplishes in the years to come.”

Reynolds focuses primarily on the international trade and investment laws of the United States, and is a member of the HNBA, as well as the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia (HBA-DC). He previously served as an HNBA Deputy National Secretary, a regional representative for its Young Lawyers Division, and was elected to the board of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois (HLAI).
