DLA Piper proud to support Lord Mayor’s Show

Marking the start of DLA Piper partner, Vincent Keaveny’s tenure as the 693rd Lord Mayor of the City of London from 12 November 2021, DLA Piper was proud to support the Lord Mayor’s Show on Saturday by entering a float for this prestigious event.

Fifth in the procession (see below), the float represents DLA Piper’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and is a continuation of its ‘One Voice of Made of Many’ initiative. The initiative recognizes that diversity and inclusion isn’t just about individual people having a voice, but that embracing those many, varied and different voices together brings with it a collective power.

During his Mayoral year, Alderman Keaveny will look to promote his own ‘People and Purpose’ agenda, championing a purpose-led and people-focused UK financial and professional services sector. This will involve growing the global competitiveness of the UK as a world leader in ESG and sustainable finance as well as promoting the UK as home to the best and most diverse global talent which foster social mobility at all levels.

Tom Heylen, London Office Managing Partner at DLA Piper said: “We are proud to support the Lord Mayor’s show and promote the value of diversity and inclusion, which we believe in passionately at DLA Piper. Everyone within the firm should feel their voice counts, that they can bring their whole selves to work and that they are valued just as they are. We are in full support of the Lord Mayor’s agenda of People and Purpose which underlines that diversity is also key to the UK’s future success throughout his year term as Lord Mayor and beyond.”
