Aziz Diallo is a lawyer specialising in project finance. He advises sponsors, lenders, and borrowers on complex financing transactions, with a strong focus on infrastructure and energy projects in Africa, France and internationally. His work spans structuring deals, negotiating documentation, and guiding clients through the legal aspects of large-scale projects.

Aziz brings experience in renewable energy, having recently supported banks and development finance institutions on legal due diligence for major projects. This included detailed analysis of project agreements and risk allocation to ensure compliance and bankability. His experience in cross-border transactions and familiarity with the requirements of DFIs make him a valuable asset for projects in emerging markets.

  • FMO on the financing of the development, construction, and operation-maintenance of the WALO solar project in Senegal, developed by Africa Ren, including a battery storage component.
  • AfDB on the financing of a 44 MW Singrobo-Ahouaty hydroelectric dam in Côte d'Ivoire.*
  • Sponsors on the development and construction of a biomass power plant in Côte d'Ivoire.*
  • AfDB on the financing of the construction of a new Terminal 5 at the Autonomous Port of Cotonou (Benin), as well as a centralized access point and a parking facility in Zongo (ongoing).
  • Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB) as lender in the context of the entry of new sponsor into a portfolio of hydroelectric projects in Tanzania financed by TDB.
  • Mining companies, in particular Rio Tinto, on the development of the Simandou mining project and related port and rail infrastructure.
  • Sponsors in connection with the concession for the development and construction of Donsin airport in Burkina Faso.
  • Sponsors in connection with an oil development project and the construction of a pipeline between Uganda and Tanzania.
