About

Jeremy Lustman created and leads DLA Piper's Israel Group, which includes nearly 750 lawyers throughout the firm. These lawyers possess the knowledge, business alliances, technical skills, language capabilities, and in-depth understanding of the Israeli business culture, ecosystem, and procedures to assist Israeli companies wherever they are doing business globally. The team aims to help clients achieve their strategic business objectives with efficiency, precision, and a deep understanding of global markets.

Jeremy is based in Israel, where he has worked tirelessly to develop a robust international network of Israeli companies, investors, entrepreneurs, bankers, local lawyers, and other service providers. Jeremy also is a frequent speaker within and outside of Israel on the Israeli tech and investment ecosystems.

Jeremy represents nearly 80 Israeli investors and companies every month, from startups to some of Israel's largest corporations and investors. These clients cover virtually all sectors of the Israeli economy, including leading venture capital and private equity funds, institutional real estate investors, and multiple companies in the high tech, cyber, telecommunications, industrial, food/beverage, health tech, biotech, agrotech, defense, homeland security, and gaming sectors. More broadly, Jeremy's practice has serviced nearly 400 clients in the past two years.

Jeremy's trusted advisor practice operates as an extension of its clients' teams, fostering enduring partnerships that span day-to-day legal matters, key projects, and complex cross-border transactions. Each month, the Israel Group advises its clients across more than 40 jurisdictions, delivering timely and practical solutions to their most pressing business challenges. These include: 1) day-to-day requests such as the formation of new subsidiaries or other corporate matters, employment issues, intellectual property protection, commercial and real estate activities, artificial intelligence (AI) governance, tax guidance, and multiple regulatory inquiries, as well as 2) more complex projects including M&A, multi-jurisdictional litigation, governmental and internal investigations, reorganizations, and other significant compliance issues. In addition, Jeremy also provides guidance to multiple non-Israeli clients evaluating business relationships and strategic partners within Israel and serves as a bridge for many of them with local Israeli counsel and other advisors.

Jeremy is passionately committed to social corporate responsibility, both through DLA Piper sponsorship of charitable endeavors and by creating opportunities for the Israel team, clients, and visiting colleagues to volunteer together on a regular basis. In 2022, Jeremy launched an annual DLA Piper Charity Basketball Tournament that has become a marquee event in the Israeli legal community, raising close to USD200K to date in support of local charities with participation by top Israeli law firms. In addition, the Israel Group regularly sponsors events and initiatives with organizations that support ill, handicapped, or at-risk children; address food insecurity issues; and lift the spirits of families impacted by terror. Jeremy also personally sits on a number of not-for-profit boards connected to mental health, aphasia, the Anglo immigrant community, university internships in Israel, umbrella social services, and charitable giving.
