Luciano Morello is Country Managing Partner of DLA Piper in Italy, with extensive experience advising financial institutions, investment funds, corporates and institutional investors on complex alternative financing transactions and strategic capital solutions.
His practice covers a broad range of domestic and cross-border matters, with a particular focus on structured finance, debt capital markets and sport finance. Qualified in Italy and registered as a Foreign Lawyer with the Solicitors Regulation Authority in England and Wales, he operates across Milan, Rome and London.
He advises on innovative financing structures, securitisations and capital markets transactions, including in the real estate, energy and sports sectors. His experience encompasses the structuring of corporate bond issuances, debt restructurings, liability management transactions and other forms of balance-sheet optimisation. He also assists issuers, arrangers, sponsors and financial institutions in the establishment and operation of issuance platforms for a broad range of financial instruments, including securities, structured notes and derivatives. His work frequently involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams and advising on transactions requiring a high degree of innovation, regulatory analysis and execution across multiple jurisdictions.
