DLA Piper welcomes Maria Cornilsen to the Leveraged Finance Practice
DLA Piper is pleased to be further expanding its US Leveraged Finance team with the addition of Maria Cornilsen as a partner in the firm’s Leveraged Finance Practice. She will be based in the New York office.
Cornilsen is qualified in both New York and Australia, and she represents leading investment and commercial banks, private credit funds and direct lenders, growth lenders and other financial institutions, as well as public and private corporate borrowers across a range of industries, including life sciences, technology, healthcare, fintech and industrials.
Her experience covers a broad range of debt financing transactions in the US and European broadly syndicated and private credit markets, including leveraged and investment grade acquisition and general corporate finance, bridge lending and venture and growth lending, and secured and unsecured credit facilities.
“We are excited Maria has joined our leveraged finance team,” said Matt Schwartz, head of DLA Piper’s US Finance Practice Group. “Her experience enhances our industry-leading capabilities in the large syndicated loan space and further strengthens our offerings in private credit transactions as we continue the build out of our US Leveraged Finance offering following the hires of Alan Rockwell and Heather Waters Borthwick last year.”
“Maria’s addition to the firm will have an immediate impact on our ability to service the needs of our clients in both the US and international leveraged finance markets, and we are delighted to welcome her to the firm,” said Cara Edwards, Managing Partner of DLA Piper’s New York office.
