Brian Hamano represents clients in a broad range of U.S. and international tax matters and has expertise in structuring and negotiating mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, recapitalizations and financing transactions. Brian focuses his practice on counseling private equity sponsors (and their portfolio companies), as well as publicly traded and privately held companies. In addition, Brian regularly advises founders and start-ups on the "qualified small business stock" exemption under Section 1202 of the Internal Revenue Code and the business and tax aspects of company exit strategies.

Brian provides clients with practical advice on complex transactions that draws on his deep industry knowledge and commercial acumen. He has been a speaker at numerous tax conferences and has written for Tax Notes.
