Supply of Consumer Goods in the UK and/or EU from 2021

The impact of Brexit – Things to Consider, Plan and Address

Following the end of the Brexit transitional period on 31 December 2020, supply of consumer goods in the UK is now subject to separate new rules for Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) and Northern Ireland. When supplying the same products both in the UK and the EU going forward, considerations need to extend to not only how to achieve compliance for both markets in terms of product labelling, marking and certification but also how the European supply chain should look like including who should be the first importer of these products into the UK and the EU respectively.

This brief document aims to assist organisations with their planning process by providing an overview of the new marking related requirements and other supply chain related questions to consider.
