DLA Piper announces new office managing partners

DLA Piper is pleased to announce changes to its office leadership in Austin, Houston, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Seattle.

Nicole Brennig, who has served as co-managing partner of the Austin office with John Guaragna since 2019, will become the sole office managing partner this spring. In her practice, Brennig focuses on domestic and foreign alternative investment representation, including advising clients with respect to private investment funds, syndicated and direct co-investments, and other related matters. 

Mark Waite has been named office managing partner in Houston. Waite also serves as global co-chair of the firm’s Industrials sector and global co-chair of the Chemicals subsector. He has more than 25 years of experience counseling clients and representing them in complex litigation, particularly in the areas of energy, construction, refining, petrochemicals and industrial operations.

Peter Ekberg has been named the firm’s Minneapolis office managing partner. A partner in the firm’s Corporate practice, Ekberg advises clients throughout their business life cycles, including formation, public and private capital raising, recapitalizations and restructurings, sales and dissolutions. He also has extensive experience in corporate governance for both public and private companies. 

David Lewis has been named managing partner of the Phoenix office. Lewis is a corporate and securities lawyer focused on representing publicly traded and privately held companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and other financing transactions, complex corporate transactions, corporate governance and related matters.

Alison Maxwell is now deputy managing partner of the Seattle office, joining managing partner Steven Yentzer. Maxwell concentrates her practice in international tax with a focus on operational structuring, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration.
