DLA Piper named Law Firm of the Year: Transactions at the Unquote British Private Equity Awards 2021

DLA Piper’s Private Equity team has been named 'Law Firm of the Year - Transactions' at the annual Unquote British Private Equity Awards 2021, which were held on the evening of 5 October at The Brewery in London.

These awards celebrate innovation and excellence in private equity and venture capital, while recognising the industry's ability to foster the wider economy. The Law Firm of the Year - Transactions category celebrates firms which have demonstrated consistent excellence in deal structuring and deal doing during the past 12 months.

Commenting on the award, DLA Piper's Head of European Private Equity, Tim Wright, said: "I would like to thank all of the people in the industry that voted for us. We continue to advise on more M&A and Private Equity deals than any other law firm and this accolade demonstrates once again our market leading position and is a testament to the calibre of our people and clients, as well as the strategic relationships we have formed.”

DLA Piper's Private Equity team has extensive experience in advising private equity houses, management and debt providers (both traditional and debt funds) across the UK and globally. The firm acts across buy outs, exits, high value growth cap and complex venture capital. The UK team is a key pillar of the wider European Private Equity team which acted on more European Buyouts than any other firm in each of 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Additionally, the private equity team work in collaboration with the leveraged finance practice which advise on the full spectrum of transactions, including acquisition financings, management buyouts, public-to-private takeovers, recapitalisations and refinancings.
