EXPERIENCE

  • Advising the sole bookrunner, Investec Bank Limited, to Vukile Property Fund Limited (a real estate investment trust) in an accelerated book build offering which resulted in raising a total of ZAR1,5 billion.
  • Advising Rand Merchant Bank and Morgan Staney, as joint bookrunners to MTN Zakhele Futhi, in respect of a secondary placement of 23,768,030 ordinary shares in MTN Group through an accelerated bookbuild offering, raising approximately ZAR3 billion. 
  • Advising Off the Shelf Investments in an accelerated bookbuild offering raising up to ZAR780 million for Momentum Group Limited shares.
  • Advising an international life sciences company on a series B investment round of up to £29,999,998.88. 
  • Advising ASP Isotopes Inc, a NASDAQ listed company and developer of technology and processes which produce isotopes for use in multiple industries (ASP), in its acquisition of all of Renergen Limited's shares by way of a scheme of arrangement as well as its secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. (JSE) 
  • Advised Remgro Limited, a JSE listed company, and its subsidiaries in an unbundling and distribution in specie by Remgro to its shareholders. This transaction required regulatory approvals both locally, from the Competition Commission and the South African Reserve Bank, and internationally, from the Ontario Securities Commission.
  • Acted for Premier Group Limited, a JSE listed FMCG company, on its proposed acquisition of all the shares in RFG Limited by way of a scheme of arrangement. 
  • Advising a private equity firm in its acquisition of a stake in an Irish holding company and its subsidiaries in the digital media, publishing and advertising business.
  • Advising a leading franchisor, manufacturer of tiles, bathroom ware and other related home finishing products listed on the JSE in establishing a B-BBEE staff share scheme trust in order to achieve the ownership transformational objectives of the group.*
  • Advising a leading international company in the industrial, automotive and decorative coatings sectors in various multi-jurisdictional mergers across Africa.*
  • Advising the joint provisional liquidators of Comair Limited, including preparing various commercial agreements.*

Prior Experience

Leratorato commenced her legal career at a leading South African corporate and commercial law firm, in January 2021, where she began as a candidate attorney. During her tenure, she successfully completed her articles and later transitioned to the role of Associate within the corporate mergers and acquisitions practice. Leratorato joined the Corporate department at DLA Piper in September 2024.
