Jeremy Sher

Jeremy Sher is an international disputes lawyer and strategic adviser who advises corporations, investors, fund managers, boards and senior executives on complex legal, commercial and reputational challenges. He is International Co-Chair of Class Actions and Mass Torts at DLA Piper.

Jeremy’s practice spans complex commercial and collective litigation, arbitration, regulatory disputes, corporate crises and governance matters, often involving multiple jurisdictions, legal systems and regulatory regimes. He regularly acts on high-stakes matters arising from major transactions, shareholder and investor disputes, allegations of fraud, contractual disputes and disputes involving states and state entities, as well as situations carrying significant financial, strategic or reputational risk. He has been involved in some of the largest collective litigation proceedings in England.

Jeremy has extensive international disputes experience, particularly across emerging markets in Asia, the Pacific and Africa, often involving private capital. He served as a legal adviser to the Government of Afghanistan during the presidency of Ashraf Ghani, advising on legislative and regulatory reforms intended to attract foreign investment and facilitate the development of critical infrastructure. His work included advising on disputes, investment protection and strategic legal risk arising from major reforms and projects.

Jeremy advises clients across a range of sectors, with particular experience in private capital, technology, energy and natural resources, defence and life sciences.

Before entering private practice, Jeremy worked in politics and public policy, experience which informs his approach to disputes involving complex regulatory, governmental and geopolitical considerations.
