DLA Piper wins significant victory for New York University

DLA Piper won a significant victory for its client, New York University (NYU), in an Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)- related class action that was filed against the school in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Today's opinion in favor of NYU was issued by US District Judge Katherine Forrest following an eight-day bench trial in April.

After the court's finding, New York University released the following statement: "NYU maintained from the time the plaintiffs first publicized this case that it was baseless, and the judge's finding supports that."

The DLA Piper team representing New York University included partners Mark Muedeking (Washington, DC), Ian Taylor (Baltimore), and Evan Parness (New York); of counsel Jennifer Squillario (Baltimore); and associates Adam Pie (Baltimore), Harry Rudo (Baltimore) and Emily Steiner (Baltimore).
