Charlie advises on complex, multi-jurisdiction financings within the European renewable energy and infrastructure sectors. She is experienced in debt and equity financing, acting both Sponsor and Lender-side (including advising DFIs).

Charlie is listed as a 'Leading Associate' for Renewables in the UK Legal500 rankings for 2025 and is "recommended for project financing and development solutions within the renewable energy sector." She was previously listed as a ‘Rising Star’ for Power (including Electricity, Nuclear and Renewables) in the UK Legal500 rankings for 2023 and 2024.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising Kommunalkredit Austria AG on its EUR 20m borrowing base facility to the WElink Group to fund the development of a 12 plant, 1.6GW battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio across Italy.
  • Advising Nord/LB on the fully merchant, construction bridge financing of the 121 MWp Kukas project in Latvia, the largest standalone solar PV project in Latvia. Included negotiation of an intercreditor agreement with Berenberg, as investment manager to Berenberg Green Energy Junior Debt Funds providing mezzanine financing to the HoldCo.
  • Advising Kommunalkredit Austria AG (Kommunalkredit) and AP Pension Livsforsikringsaktieselskab on their refinancing of a portfolio of Finnish wind farms, including an ECA-backed facility.
  • Advising a club of European lenders, including DFIs in respect of the project financing of the Norwegian E10 road PPP project, with a value in excess of €1.2bn. Sponsor was Skanska. Charlie was responsible for coordination of the DLA Piper team and consortium members.
  • Advising a European renewables fund on the Holdco financing in relation to its investment in a renewables platform (mix of greenfield and operational sites).
