About

Becky Rock is a senior corporate/commercial associate in DLA Piper's Vancouver office. She advises companies at every stage of growth on a broad range of matters, with a particular focus on the food and beverage and retail sectors (brick-and-mortar and e‑commerce). With significant experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, Becky brings a pragmatic approach that helps businesses structure relationships, manage risk, and scale with confidence.

Becky's practice is organized around three complementary pillars:

Commercial

Becky helps develop and operationalize contract infrastructure, from procurement and supply agreements to manufacturing, distribution, logistics, and private brand arrangements. She also regularly assists with consulting, licensing, and services contracts. Her extensive negotiation experience enables her to tailor her advice to each client's unique strategic objectives and risk tolerance.

Regulatory

Becky advises on product labeling and marketing claims, advertising standards, consumer protection requirements, and regulated products (including alcohol, tobacco, and nicotine). She also counsels on privacy and e‑commerce compliance for retailers operating online.

Corporate and Governance

Becky assists with entity formation and structuring, investments, amalgamations, and reorganizations. She works with both companies and not‑for‑profits/societies, drawing on in‑depth governance experience, including serving as corporate secretary of a federal Crown corporation, to guide boards and management.

Becky received her Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia and enjoyed returning to campus in 2023/2024 as an Adjunct Professor for the Centre for Business Law.
