Chris Broughton has a construction law practice focused on representing owners, developers, and contractors in transactional and litigation matters regarding the construction and development of major projects. 

Chris represents owners and contractors in construction disputes in various forums across the country, including arbitration, mediation, and state and federal litigation matters. He advises clients in disputes involving a wide of construction projects, including hotel projects, industrial facilities, multi-family developments, mixed-use projects, and other traditional commercial developments. 

He also advises clients in the drafting and negotiation of construction and design agreements, the preparation of form contract documents, and claims avoidance practices.

EXPERIENCE

  • Drafted and negotiated contracts for an Australian energy and technology company related to the construction of its data center and renewable energy facilities in Texas. 
  • Represented a British EPC contractor in disputes with its subcontractors and the project owner in state court and arbitration forums arising from the construction of a $250 million manufacturing facility in Ohio. 
  • Represent an international restaurant company in the drafting and negotiation of construction and design agreements, post-project disputes, and claims avoidance related to the construction of retail and industrial facilities in the US and International markets.  
  • Advised a real estate investment fund in the drafting and negotiation of construction and design agreements on numerous projects across the country. 
  • Represented a multinational technology company in a construction and real estate dispute in Georgia state court.  
  • Advised a British consumer goods company in the drafting and negotiation of a construction contract related to its manufacturing facility in Tennessee.
