About
Dr Ute Brunner-Reumann focuses on securities and banking regulation and investment funds law. She advises regulated entities, such as credit institutions and financial services institutions on all issues of German, European and international banking and capital markets law, on aspects of governance, business organization and conduct requirements including contractual matters. 

She further advises on investment law, particularly the setting up of AIF or UCITS, on aspects of marketing and distribution of investment funds as well as the internal organization of fund management companies. 

She also regularly advises on capital markets transactions and regulatory aspects of other transactions conducted by regulated entities, in particular investment funds, such as real estate transactions, derivatives, securities lending and aspects of collateral management. 

She is particularly specialized on obligations and organizational requirements of depositary banks. Ute advises with a focus on custody, securities settlement issues and payment services.

She has developed particular knowledge of blockchain and use of DLT in the banking area including crypto-custody and advises on legal and regulatory issues related to the deployment of these technologies.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining DLA Piper Ute was an inhouse lawyer/head of group regulatory law in a major German bank from 2016 to 2021.

Prior to this she was with a leading international law firm in Frankfurt am Main for 15 years, 8 of them as counsel.
