Jennifer Kristen Lee is a corporate and securities attorney at DLA Piper. She provides skillful legal counsel to private technology companies in areas that are critical to their short term and ongoing success. Jennifer's practice focuses on counseling companies from formation to exit, representing emerging companies and investors in venture capital financings, representing buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions and advising on corporate governance matters.

Jennifer serves on DLA Piper's Emerging Growth and Venture Capital National Leadership Group, the Northern California Culture Committee and the Silicon Valley Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Asian Law Alliance, an organization which has helped tens of thousands of people in obtaining decent housing, justice in the immigration process and access to basic human and legal rights.

Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in Political Science, from the University of California at Berkeley, her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she was a member of the Santa Clara Law Review, and her Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business.

Jennifer has been selected by her peers as a Northern California Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine from 2016 to 2018. To be selected for the Rising Stars list, attorneys must be under the age of 40 or in practice for less than 10 years. No more than 2.5 percent of the region's attorneys are selected.

  • Jennifer advised Riverwood Capital in connection with its lead role in a US$50 million equity investment into CloudVirga, a leading provider of digital mortgage point-of-sale (POS) software
  • Jennifer advised Riverwood Capital in connection with its lead role in a US$80 million growth equity investment into Druva, a Silicon Valley-based international leader in cloud data protection and information management
  • Jennifer advised staffing and recruitment software provider Bond International Software and private equity firm Symphony Technology Group (STG) in the acquisition of Erecruit, an enterprise staffing software platform from North Bridge Growth Equity 
  • Jennifer advised Lux Capital in the US $10 million Series A Financing of Arraiy, Inc., a computer vision and machine learning platform for special effects.  
  • Jennifer advised TubeMogul, an enterprise software company for digital branding that provides a video buying platform to advertisers, in its US$540 million sale to Adobe
  • Jennifer assisted in the acquisition of MarketTools, Inc. by SurveyMonkey.com, LLC and the related Preferred Stock Financing by TPG Growth. M&A Advisor honored DLA Piper with the 2012 M&A Deal of the Year award for DLA Piper's work in that transaction
