  • Michael has experience in large technology based outsourcing transactions. Michael utilises a wide range of legal technology tools to combine legal contracts, technology and data science in his advice to clients. He is actively involved in DLA Piper’s technology sector initiatives and is a member of the firm’s AI Practice Group.
  • As part of DLA Piper’s AI Practice Group, Michael has been a core designer of the recently launched AI Scorebox: a free tool developed to assist companies in assessing their maturity in relation to developing AI regulatory trends.
  • Michael’s has IP experience in relation to software licencing, use of IP in technology transactions and procurement of SaaS and cloud platforms.
  • Michael has additional experience in the automotive sector where he has advised numerous companies throughout the automotive supply chain on issues relating to manufacturing of high tech prototypes, outsourcing, specialist engineering resourcing and alternative revenue models.

  • Advising a leading global consumer goods brand on the outsourcing of its application development and maintenance functions
  • Advising Allied Irish Banks on various business-critical ITO and BPO deals, including the outsourcing of its security operations functions
  • Leading the negotiations for a national network separation and re-procurement project for a major consumer DIY company
  • Advising a major international bank on its use and risk management of open-source software including the development of a bespoke legal-technology tool for quantifying in-house usage
  • Advising on of the UK’s largest car manufacturers on specialist resource procurement.
