Transatlantic DLA Piper team oversees Phil Collins and Genesis back catalogue sale

A global team of DLA Piper media, sports and entertainment lawyers has advised leading independent music company Concord on its purchase of the music catalogues of Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford, individually and as members of the band Genesis.

Concord is an independent, worldwide leader in developing, managing and acquiring sound recordings, music publishing and theatrical performance rights. Concord’s current roster includes such critically acclaimed songwriters as The 1975, Glen Ballard, Tyler Bates, Fiona Bevan, BIA, Jason Robert Brown, Tofer Brown, Daft Punk, Chase + Status, Cautious Clay, Jacob Collier, Denzel Curry, James Earp, Noah Goldstein, Ruston Kelly, Tom Kitt, Daniel Lanois, Hillary Lindsey, Duff McKagan, Josh Miller, Oh Wonder, Justin Parker, Steve Robson, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, Biff Stannard, Varren Wade, Walshy Fire, Tion Wayne and Yola.

Genesis has had a career spanning more than five decades and amassing over 100 million albums sold around the world. The combined record sales of the group and its three core members, along with live albums, soundtracks and box sets, are in excess of 250 million copies. The work includes tracks “I Can’t Dance,” “That’s All,” “In the Air Tonight”.
