Miguel Colebrook focuses his practice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, investments, and strategic joint ventures.

Miguel advises some of the world's most dynamic businesses and their investors on a broad range of complex and strategic transactions. He has deep experience across the full spectrum of private capital structures, from disruptive venture investments to private equity-backed market-defining buyouts. With experience working across a wide variety of sectors, Miguel primarily advises clients in energy, infrastructure, technology, and related industries.

EXPERIENCE

  • An American global private equity and investment company with the investment, alongside a Canadian public pension fund, in Finland's largest electricity distribution company. The transaction, which represented the second deal undertaken under the private equity and investment company's core infrastructure strategy, involved the acquisition of an Australian global asset management company's 40% stake in the company as well as the separate acquisition of another Canadian public pension fund's 40% stake
  • Represented the purchaser in the acquisition of energy infrastructure and storage terminals assets from a Swiss multinational mid- and downstream oil company, consisting of 19 infrastructure assets located in 10 countries worldwide
  • An American global digital infrastructure investment firm on its joint venture with a Canadian global infrastructure partnership for the purpose of acquiring a 51% ownership stake in Germany's largest tower company, valuing the company at EUR€17.5 billion
  • A UK-based independent telecommunications infrastructure company with the acquisition of an Indian multinational telecommunications company's passive infrastructure operating companies in Madagascar and Malawi and the potential acquisition of its passive infrastructure assets in Chad and Gabon, together with related long term service contracts
  • The corporate venture arm of a Saudi Arabian oil company in its lead investment in the EUR€5 million Series A financing of a developer of heat transfer fluids that reduce energy consumption
  • The corporate venture arm of a Saudi Arabian oil company with its investment in a carbon capture and storage technology company
  • The venture capital arm of a Saudi Arabian oil company with its participation in the largest ever European semiconductor venture funding round and investment in a global leader in manufacturing flexible integrated circuits
  • A venture capital fund backed by a Saudi Arabian oil company with its investment in a 3D printing construction technology company for constructing prefabricated, environmentally friendly, and climate-resilient homes
