Alessandro Ferrari advises Italian and international businesses on strategic technology transactions and digital transformation, combining commercial contracting with EU digital regulation. He brings a practical approach to problem-solving, developing creative solutions grounded in how the technology works and the client's commercial objectives.

He structures and negotiates complex domestic and cross-border technology, commercial and IP agreements, including AI procurement, cloud and business process outsourcing, SaaS and other as-a-service models, systems integration, technology transfer, IP licensing, joint ventures, distribution and franchising. His support spans the sourcing lifecycle, from procurement strategy and deal design to negotiation, implementation, supplier oversight, performance management and exit. He also advises technology providers on public tenders and assists with technology-related disputes.

Alessandro Ferrari is a Partner in DLA Piper's Intellectual Property & Technology group and Head of the Technology Sector in Italy. His advisory practice focuses on AI governance, cybersecurity, incident management, data protection and the EU Digital Decade framework, including the AI Act, NIS2, the Cyber Resilience Act and the Data Act.

He has particular experience in financial services and insurance, advising on DORA, outsourcing and third-party risk management under EBA and EIOPA guidance. His work translates regulatory requirements into contractual safeguards, governance arrangements and operating procedures. He also advises on open source, connected products, e-commerce, fintech, insurtech, electronic signatures and digital payments.
