Marco Schnabl

Of Counsel
About

Marco Schnabl's legal career has spanned almost 40 years, many of them based in New York.

He has represented clients in a wide range of US and international litigations and arbitrations before US federal and state courts as well as leading arbitral institutions such as ICSID, LCIA, ICC, AAA and ICDR. Among Marco's recent successful matters is his representation of one of Europe's leading banks in the dismissal of US$64 billion in claims asserted by the Madoff trustee. Financial Times named this case among the top matters of 2013 in the Most Innovative US Law Firms Litigation & Dispute Resolution category. Marco also represented the Argentine Social Security Administration (ANSES) in its successful efforts under the US Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act to resist efforts by holdout creditors of Argentina to seize some US$10 billion in assets managed by ANSES. Born and raised in Argentina, Marco retains a keen interest in Latin American business and political affairs.

He has also been participating in corporate crime internal investigations being run by Argentine companies in an effort to comply with applicable regulations and promptly detect any possible breaches which could potentially lead to criminal and/or civil responsibility. In particular, he recently participated in an investigation for one of the largest business conglomerates in Argentina in connection with the so-called “notebook scandal”.

Before becoming a lawyer, he worked for several years on Wall Street.
