Nicholas Mallard is experienced in technical and commercial disputes under shipbuilding contracts, international arbitration and mediation.

Nicholas also deals with contentious shipping including charterparties, collisions, safe ports, pollution cases, salvage, wreck removal and contentious engineering relating to the construction and installation of jacket structures and top sides, and pipe laying.

He has expertise in non-contentious areas such as the drafting of shipbuilding contracts for the design and construction of bulk carriers, car carriers, various types of dredgers and for conversion of ships and of technical and crewing management contracts for bulk carriers and a cruise ship and of the drafting of charters.

He is a regular practitioner of arbitration in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and the PRC and supervises arbitration and litigation in other countries. Nicholas is a supporting member of the LMAA and a former Executive Committee member of the HKMLA.
