Reuben Woods is experienced in share and business acquisitions and disposals, workouts, insolvency and restructuring. He also advises on capital raisings, joint ventures, and general company and commercial contracts.

Reuben has a reputation for cutting through deals, with clients describing him as an 'efficient, technically very sound, very commercially astute partner who gets things moving and gets transactions done'.

His experience includes acting for: 
  • US Private Equity firm Sun Capital on its acquisition of Elldex Packaging from Hellaby; 
  • Vision Senior Living on multiple rounds of capital raisings with Goldman Sachs private equity funds and on its merger with Metlifecare (creating a merger entity with a market capitalisation exceeding $500 million); 
  • the shareholders of BankLink on the sale of the BankLink group to MYOB for $136 million; 
  • Bright Dairy on its acquisition of a controlling stake in Synlait; 
  • Foodstuffs on the sale of iconic New Zealand company Bell Tea & Coffee to a Pencarrow private equity fund; and 
  • the Hiway Stabilizers shareholders on the sale to, and joint venture with, Direct Capital private equity.

Reuben is of Ngai Tahu descent.
