Alexandra Dagger has experience in the area of information technology law advising domestic and international clients of all sizes on a wide range of digital transformation projects, including technology-based outsourcing, business process outsourcing, systems integration projects and software licensing arrangements. Alexandra also advises on regulatory issues, in particular, privacy, spam and unfair contract terms compliance issues.

Alexandra previously worked at one of the big four accounting firms and as a solicitor at a leading Australian law firm. Alexandra has completed numerous successful secondments including to the DLA Piper Dubai office, Bank of Queensland, Westpac, Dentsu Aegis Network and nbn.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising an Australian bank on arrangements with a panel of vendors for the outsourcing application development and management services and business processes, including developing and negotiating the service descriptions and service level methodology.
  • Advising an Australian bank on the renegotiation of a major third party outsourcing contract, including playing an instrumental and leading role in negotiations as well as front-end and back-end contractual documentation.
  • Advising an Australian insurance company on the development, negotiation and implementation of a long term contact centre call services arrangement. This work included, but was not limited to, strategic procurement, contract development and development of effective risk allocation mechanisms.
  • Advising Datacom on its contractual arrangements with the State of Western Australia for the whole-of-government IT services panel (known as GovNext) and its arrangements with other GovNext panelists in connection with the joint design, delivery and maintenance of the core network infrastructure that supports the delivery of other IT services.
  • Advising a range of organisations across various sectors (including retail and financial services) on their privacy compliance programs, including identifying and assessing data flows, customer on-boarding processes and contractual data sharing arrangements to enable the provision of advice on compliance with Australian privacy laws.
  • Advising a range of international manufacturers and suppliers of products on arrangements for the supply and distribution of products within Australia. This includes advising on the preparation of distribution arrangements, advising on contractual rights and remedies and coordinating advice from competition and tax colleagues as required.
