Valentina is an energy, projects and finance practitioner qualified in Austria. Her practice area covers the entire energy value chain in the renewable and conventional electricity and gas sectors, including production, transportation and trading, as well emission reduction projects. Her practice focus is contract negotiation for renewable electricity, hydrogen, biogas and certificates (environmental attributes and carbon offsets) in the context of EU and national energy regulatory law.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a major Austrian energy company on the development of their hydrogen business strategy, focusing on the set-up of the contractual arrangements for the purchase and onward sale of green hydrogen in Austria, the EU and third countries;
  • Advising a German offshore wind park operator on a post-EEG long-term power purchase agreement with a major German as well as on their financially settled PPAs;
  • Advising a major German utility on its direct line power purchase agreement for the electricity supply of their electrolyser from an on-site wind park in Germany;
  • Advising an Austrian wind park operator on its corporate power purchase agreement, structuring it to fit supply needs of electrolysis projects for the production of green hydrogen in Austria;
  • Advising a European aerospace corporation on the structuring of their power purchase agreements and electricity supply agreements in France, Germany, Spain and UK;
  • Advising the German Energy Agency (dena) and Energy Traders Europe (EFET) on a model PPA for the German market;
  • Advising an international chemistry corporation on a RED II certified biomethane transfer agreement as well as on several biomethane certificate transfer agreements;
  • Advising Energy Traders Europe (EFET) and the Central European Gas Hub (CEGH) on the EFET Biogas Certificates Single Trade Agreement;
  • Advising the RECS Energy Certificate Association on the RECS Biogas Certificates Trade Agreement;
  • Advising an international trader on trade agreements for renewable energy certificates and carbon offsets;
  • Advising an international energy company on the regulatory aspects of biofuel schemes in Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Poland;
  • Advising an international financial service provider on the regulatory requirements for its access to the gas and electricity markets in Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
  • Advising Austrian electricity producers on the Austrian support scheme for renewable energy*.
  • Advising an international energy group on the grid connection set up for an electrolyser for the production of renewable hydrogen*.
