5-10 Years Commercial Litigation Associate‎‎ – Montréal Office

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP Montreal office is newly looking for a talented associate with 5-10 years’ ‎experience in commercial and civil litigation. The successful candidate will work on a ‎variety of litigation ‎matters for our clients, supported by an incredibly busy and talented ‎team. You will be a self-starter and ‎looking to punch above your weight in our collegial ‎and high functioning group. You will be a proven ‎team-player.‎

‎Specifically, the successful candidate’s skills and experience will include:

  • Working independently on a multitude of tasks involved in litigation matters with minimal ‎supervision, ‎and progressing files in a timely manner;‎
  • Expertise in Quebec court filings, procedures, documents, and strong advocacy skills;‎
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding writing skills;‎
  • Excellent client communication skills, ideally having worked with market-leaders in a variety ‎of ‎industries.‎

You will contribute to a complex mix of disputes work and will continue to expand your ‎litigation skills in ‎many of our key areas, which include: general ‎commercial and civil litigation, employment law, insurance ‎law, as well as class actions. ‎

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is newly looking for a talented mid-level associate with 3-6 years’ experience in Capital Markets/Securities, Corporate and M&A. The successful candidate will have exposure to interesting and sophisticated corporate work in an incredibly busy and talented team. You will be a self-starter, looking to punch above your weight, and always a team-player.

We are looking for candidates to join in any of our Canadian offices: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto or Montreal

Specifically, the successful candidate’s skills and experience will include:

  • Advising clients on securities law compliance and a strong familiarity with applicable securities legislation, instruments and stock exchange rules;
  • Advising client companies on a broad array of corporate transactions, including debt and equity financings, going-public transactions and mergers and acquisitions;
  • Advising both public and privately held companies on corporate governance, stock exchange rules and continuous disclosure obligations.
    Our clients include publically listed and privately held entities, so 3+ years’ experience from a national, international or very well-reputed law firm and/or mix of in-house work is highly desirable. The team is made up of high performing and dedicated practitioners who are collegial, bright and committed to producing excellent results for our clients. You will take a lead role, working closely with one very busy partner and another associate.
