Brian Davison, Q.C. appointed Chair of Canadian Restructuring Group

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to announce that Brian Davison, Q.C. has been named Chair of the firm's Restructuring Group.

A partner in the Calgary office, Brian is a seasoned practitioner in commercial restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency, representing debtors and creditors in matters relating to bankruptcy, debt restructuring, corporate reorganizations, loan workouts and receiverships. Brian is particularly well known in the oil and gas sector, where he has been active in a number of significant commercial insolvency files and served as counsel to several of the major oil and gas well drilling and service contractors in Alberta.

Brian has also maintained a significant litigation practice since 1978. He has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and has extensive experience in cases involving the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. Brian was named Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in Canada in Insolvency and Financial Restructuring Law (Calgary) in 2015.
