DLA Piper (Canada) LLP congratulates Heather Treacy, Q.C. on being named a winner of the 2017 Lexpert Zenith Awards: Celebrating Women in Law.
This year’s Awards honour women in the legal profession who have achieved professional distinction and demonstrated leadership in furthering the interests of women in law and in the broader community.
Heather is the Managing Partner of the firm's Calgary office and a nationally recognized counsel with over 25 years of experience in complex litigation and dispute resolution. Her extensive legal expertise encompasses energy and resources law, Aboriginal and constitutional law, commercial disputes, aviation, products liability and employment law. Among a long list of industry accolades, Heather was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women Executive Network (WXN) in 2014 and named a winner of the Women in Law Leadership Awards in 2016.
A dedicated advocate for the advancement of women lawyers, Heather has led many successful initiatives to help them overcome barriers in the profession. She has spearheaded many educational, mentoring and networking programs to help associates gain leadership training and business development opportunities. A busy parent herself, she champions workplace accommodations that facilitate work-life balance without compromising career advancement. Outside of the firm, Heather has been actively involved in mentoring programs with the Canadian Bar Association and the WXN.

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP actively pursues strategies to develop and promote our women lawyers as part of an overall commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In 2015, the Leadership Alliance for Women (LAW) program was launched in Canada to help generate business development and leadership opportunities and foster internal peer relationships across the global DLA Piper network.
