DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to welcome Wendy Sun to the firm’s Toronto office as an associate in the Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations Group.
Wendy Sun has a broad commercial litigation practice with a focus on corporate and securities litigation, competition law, and regulatory defence. Wendy is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has experience in providing legal services to Chinese clients in commercial disputes.
Wendy joins DLA Piper after articling and working at a prominent commercial litigation boutique firm. She has represented public and private companies, major financial institutions and investment dealers and advisors. Wendy has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association, and the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. Wendy also advises clients on competition law matters and has experience in defending private actions and class actions.
Wendy was the recipient of the Omatsu Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers Student Scholarship in 2013. In 2014, she was a member of the third place team in the Canadian Corporate/Securities Moot.
During law school Wendy worked as a Caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services in the Housing Rights Division and represented tenants at hearings before the Landlord and Tenant Board. Prior to starting her legal career, Wendy was a Land Use Planner for the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
