DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to welcome Jessica Sullivan to the firm’s Vancouver office as an associate in the Wills, Estates and Trusts group.
Jessica has a personal wealth management practice with a focus on wills, estates and trust law, which includes assisting clients with personal estate and incapacity planning, including the preparation of wills, powers of attorney and representation agreements. Jessica also advises on tax efficiency wealth preservation planning for high net worth individuals through the execution of estate freezes, corporate reorganizations, and the establishment and maintenance of trusts and privately held corporate structures. She has advised on various litigation matters related to wills and estates.
Jessica joins DLA Piper after working at a prominent B.C. firm in the area of estates and wealth preservation and completing her articles at an Alberta firm. She has been admitted to both the B.C. and Alberta bars. During law school, Jessica worked as a research assistant at the University of Calgary and prior to attending law school, she was a practicum student at the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General, CJB Crown Counsel Office.
Jessica has held various leadership positions where she was called on to organize events throughout British Columbia, including leading a high energy rodeo grand entry team. More recently she spent three years visiting vulnerable populations with her golden retriever, Ada, through a Calgary based volunteer organization. She looks forward to joining the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program in Vancouver and becoming involved in her new community.
