Catherine Gibson is a nationally recognized business lawyer with a practice that focusses on corporate/commercial and real estate matters. Catherine has over 20 years of experience providing strategic advice to her clients in a broad range of commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions; office, retail and industrial leasing; real estate development; corporate finance and lending; and corporate structuring. She has been recognized for her expertise in real estate law by prominent ranking guides such as Chambers Canada, the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and Best Lawyers in Canada.
As the Managing Partner of the DLA Piper Vancouver office, Catherine is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within the firm. She has been a longstanding advocate for the retention and advancement of women lawyers in private practice and many young lawyers and articling students have flourished under her mentorship.
Catherine has made significant contributions to the legal profession and to the community, including providing legal services to a number of non-profit organizations. Catherine has been actively volunteering with the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia for almost 20 years and was a former director of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE).
