DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to have acted on two of the transactions included in Lexpert magazine’s “Top 10 Deals of 2018.”
Our national team of multi-disciplinary professionals advised on the following:
Gordie Howe International Bridge Project (Deal of the Year): We advised on a design-build joint venture consisting of Dragados Canada Inc., Fluor and Aecon in relation to their successful bid for the project, a $3.8 billion bridge connecting Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan.
Coca-Cola sale to Kilmer: In conjunction with DLA Piper LLP (US), we acted as lead M&A counsel to the Coca-Cola Company through all stages of the sale of its Canadian bottling operations.
Our work as Canadian counsel to Canacol Energy Ltd. in its offering of senior unsecured notes in the aggregate principal amount of US $320 million also received an honourable mention.
We congratulate our clients on these standout transactions that have been deemed among the most impactful in the country last year. The selection process for Lexpert’s annual Top 10 list includes the extensive canvassing of Canada’s leading M&A, securities, and corporate finance lawyers for deals that “stand for more than itself: represent a trend, illustrate some aspect of the year’s economic climate, or be a portent of things to come.”
