DLA Piper (Canada) LLP welcomes Richard Mar to the firm’s Toronto office as Associate Counsel in the Intellectual Property and Technology Group.
Richard has a practice focused on all aspects of acquisition, transfer and protection of intellectual property rights. He has experience assisting clients with patentability and infringement opinions, drafting licensing agreements, and enforcing intellectual property rights. Richard has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications and developing global patent filing strategies for clients. He has drafted hundreds of patent applications for clients ranging from sole inventors to large multinational corporations with well established patent programs.
Richard joins DLA Piper after working at one of North America’s most prominent patent and trademark IP boutiques. He is admitted to the British Columbia, Ontario and New York bars and is a licensed patent agent in both Canada and the United States, in addition to being a licensed trade-mark agent in Canada.
