DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to announce that, effective September 9, 2020, Veronica Monteiro will become the Office Managing Partner of the Edmonton office.
A valued member of the Corporate, Real Estate and Pension and Benefits Groups, Veronica has been a fundamental contributor to DLA Piper Canada’s growing and dynamic client base and is often sought after by key firm clients for her strategic legal and business advice. Veronica has embraced the Firm's vision of being a leading global business law firm and has worked with lawyers throughout DLA Piper, both nationally and globally, on numerous complex matters. Veronica is also a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
As an active participant in the legal profession, Veronica was the Alberta Co-Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Pensions and Benefits Section from 2011 to 2019 and was the Financial Literacy Liaison on the National Executive of the Canadian Bar Association. In September of 2019, Veronica became the Secretary of the National Canadian Bar Association Pensions and Benefits Section and in September, 2020 will remain on the National Executive as the National Outreach Officer.
