Ryan Campbell is an employment lawyer. He advises employers on a broad range of workplace issues including occupational health and safety, workers’ compensation, employment contracts, restrictive covenants, performance management, accommodation, allegations of human rights discrimination, terminations, and employment-related litigation.

Ryan is often called upon to advise organizations in crisis situations, including industrial accidents, critical injuries and fatalities in the workplace, and executions of search warrants (pursuant to occupational health and safety, environmental and competition legislation), and to defend clients in regulatory and quasi-criminal proceedings that may arise from such situations.

He has successfully represented clients before Ontario courts, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.

Ryan also advises targets and acquirers with respect to human resources matters in corporate/M&A transactions and assists multinational corporations in establishing and maintaining operations in Canada to ensure compliance with local laws. This often includes developing employee handbooks, programs, and policies and delivering training to ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, and occupational health and safety legislation.

Ryan strives to provide creative, pragmatic solutions to legal challenges and is committed to delivering excellent customer service and sound legal advice to his clients. Clients benefit from his past experience on secondment to the in-house legal department of a global engineering conglomerate.

Ryan is passionate about youth outreach and leadership and also has an interest in the arts. He has previously served as a director of a youth leadership organization and appeared in three Nightwood Theatre Lawyer Show productions - Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night and Guys and Dolls.
