Katrina has a commercial litigation practice with deep experience in complex litigation, regulatory work, and insurance.

Katrina has extensive commercial litigation experience in a broad range of sectors, including fraud, insurance, utilities, life sciences, education, tech, procurement, finance, and securities. She focusses on intensive and high publicity matters with organizations and individuals under scrutiny and with tight timelines. Katrina starts every matter with client’s desired outcomes and brings strong courtroom skills together with a multi-disciplinary and tactical approach to achieve success.   

Katrina has experience in both litigation and regulatory work, and is comfortable working in courtroom and tribunal environments, and on matters that span across venues and jurisdictions. Katrina also has extensive experience with complex insurance litigation, regulatory work, and advising, having spent many years in an insurance boutique firm, where she was co-head of the complex litigation practice group.

In 2020, Katrina was named a Lexpert Rising Star, an award recognizing a select group of nationally leading lawyers under the age of 40 for their professional ‎excellence, effective leadership, and commitment to their communities. Katrina was also listed as a 2021 Rising Star in the area of Dispute Resolution by The Legal 500 Canada and as a Lawyer to Watch (Litigation Corporate/Commercial) in the 2020 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.

Katrina is an extremely committed pro bono diversity and inclusion advocate, particularly in the areas of equity and diversity in traditionally male dominated industries. She was recently appointed by the Law Society to the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Committee. She is Chair of the Board of Directors of Women+Power, an organization that supports the advancement of women in the utilities space. In addition to this, she is treasurer of the board of Lawyers for Equity, Access and Diversity (LEAD) Alberta and is the Director of Communications for Help with Debt Alberta, an initiative that assists individuals in financial distress with free legal and financial advice. Katrina is an active mentor formally and informally, and participates in mentorship through the CBA, AWL and the Law Society.
