Ryan Evans practices intellectual property law, with significant trial experience in complex patent infringement disputes.

Ryan's practice encompasses all stages of IP litigation and dispute resolution.  He often works with clients and attorneys from other jurisdictions, including the United States and Europe, in connection with cross-border IP strategy and litigation.  Ryan has appeared before the Ontario Courts, the Federal Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal, and is experienced in mediation and arbitration.

With a degree in chemical and biochemical engineering, Ryan's practice is focused on patent litigation in the industrial chemical, mechanical, medical device and pharmaceutical spaces.

Ryan is also a registered trademark agent and active in the anti-counterfeiting and trademark/copyright enforcement space.  This includes assisting clients develop in-house monitoring protocols and best practices, conducting investigations, and enforcement.

Ryan is an active member of the Canadian IP community. He has made substantial contributions on submissions to the government and its agencies, and has testified before a Senate Standing Committee, concerning amendments to Canada’s IP regime and its administration. Ryan is also regularly invited to speak on various aspects of intellectual property law and trial presentation tools and techniques.
