Wendy Sun has a broad commercial litigation practice, including cross-border litigation, corporate/ securities litigation and competition law.

Wendy is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and frequently provides legal services to Chinese clients in complex cross-border commercial litigation and arbitration proceedings. She has represented international companies in contractual disputes, reps and warranty claims and employment matters, and has appeared before various levels of the courts in Ontario, as well as domestic and international arbitration panels. Wendy has experiences with managing e-discovery projects spanning multiple jurisdictions.

Wendy also advises clients on competition law matters, particularly misleading advertisement offences under the Competition Act. In addition, she has represented manufacturing and retail clients in private actions and class actions related to refusal to deal, cartel and abuse of dominance.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Wendy practiced at a prominent commercial litigation boutique firm, where she ‎represented public and private companies in civil claims and class actions related to securities ‎misrepresentation and fraud. She also acted for investment firms and individual advisors in regulatory ‎investigations and disciplinary hearings before self-regulatory organizations.

Wendy is currently a duty counsel for the Ontario Securities Commission’s Litigation Assistance Program.
