DLA Piper enhances Asia Investigations offering in Singapore

DLA Piper has announced that Sammy Fang, Partner and Head of the firm's Greater China Compliance & Investigations practice has relocated from Hong Kong to Singapore, effective from 1 May 2025.

Sammy has been instrumental in building the firm's Compliance & Investigations practice in Greater China since 2014. Prior to this he spent five years in Beijing as Head of the Litigation & Regulatory group. Sammy is also the Co-head of the firm's China Life Sciences sector.

Sammy will maintain his current roles in Singapore and will continue to service his clients in Hong Kong and China. He will drive the firm's ESG practice in Asia and will also be responsible for developing the firm's Southeast Asia Compliance and Investigations practice, alongside Nathan Bush, Partner and Head of Antitrust & Competition, and International Trade for Asia.

Sammy has extensive experience in compliance and investigations, and represents both multinational corporations and locally based companies on product liability, regulatory compliance and investigations (ranging from internal fraud and other white-collar crime to anti-bribery and anti-corruption and cybercrime and data breaches). His practice covers a wide range of industries including life sciences, technology, hospitality and leisure, consumer products, and industrials. He has also dealt with crises, disputes and investigations across multiple jurisdictions including Mainland China, US, Hong Kong, Australia and Southeast Asia.

Commenting on the move Sammy said "As a key market and hub for Southeast Asia, building out our Compliance and Investigations, and ESG offerings in the region from Singapore is an important strategic goal. I am excited by the opportunities in Southeast Asia and look forward to expanding DLA Piper's footprint in the region, while simultaneously continuing to support my clients in Greater China."
