Antonio is a Partner in the tax department and has extensive experience in tax law, with a focus on international, corporate, personal, and employment taxation, as well as in the resolution of tax disputes. Antonio has expertise in audit, tax compliance activities, and tax risk management systems. He also provides assistance in complex cases of wealth and succession planning.

Antonio assists Italian and multinational companies operating in various sectors, including insurance, pharmaceutical, industrial, technological, food, and retail. He is the main tax contact in the firm's insurance team and support clients on management incentive plans and strategies related to the international mobility of workers.

In the area of family businesses and high-net-worth individuals, to whose development he has contributed both in Italy and internationally, he is a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, family offices, top managers, sports and arts personalities, Italian and foreign wealth management operators. Antonio advises clients in relation to complex cross-border structuring of personal and business assets, tax residency matters, trust, family governance structures to facilitate intergenerational wealth succession, inheritance and gift tax planning.

His responsibilities also include assisting in national and international tax rulings and tax settlement procedures. Moreover, Antonio represents clients during pre-litigation and litigation tax matters before tax authorities and courts.

Antonio heads the Family Business & Wealth Management group within the international firm and is Co-Head of the Private Client sector in Italy.

Antonio is a qualified trust and estate practitioner (TEP), member of the Branch Development Committee of STEP Worldwide and of the STEP Italy's Advisory Board. He also serves as head of the international tax committee within the Milan Bar Association.

Antonio regularly collaborates as an expert with Il Sole 24 Ore and IPSOA – Wolters Kluwer. He is the author of over 500 editorial contributions and publications in national and international legal journals on tax law.

He regularly participates as a speaker at conferences and seminars in Italy and abroad and is a lecturer in postgraduate specialization courses.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advised on a trust and succession structure for a HNW family owning shares in a pharmaceutical company; the structure involved legal and tax issues both under Italian and US law.
  • Assisted HNWIs on “voluntary disclosure” procedures involving assets (financial assets, real estate, artistic heritage, etc.) held in multiple jurisdictions (Switzerland, Luxembourg, US, Panama, Monaco, Spain, UK, etc.).
  • Advised on and implemented an international tax and succession planning for a family with assets located in Italy and UK.
  • Provided family governance assistance and prepared family wills for HNW families with assets in Italy, France and Switzerland.
