Orestis Omran is a cross border corporate attorney with extensive EU regulatory experience, including but not limited to energy, privacy and financial services.

In particular, Orestis has lead international corporate and finance transactions in many jurisdictions. He represents collective investment, hedge and pension funds, and he is often involved in cross border corporate debt restructurings and reorganizations.

In addition, Orestis advises energy companies on both contentious and non-contentious matters. He is often involved in transnational litigation and international commercial and investment arbitrations in the energy sector. He represents and advises clients on a wide range of disputes and regulatory matters involving the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas industry. He also has experience in drafting and negotiating oil exploration and development proposals with foreign governments.

In Greece, Orestis has developed a track record of successful representation of international and Greek companies, while he actively participates in the firm’s initiatives on privatizations in the country. Benefiting from a strong network of contacts in the Greek government and industry, he advises foreign investors on corporate, finance and regulatory matters under Greek and EU law. He has also been advising the IMF and the European Institutions on the implementation of the Greek Program.

Furthermore, Orestis regularly advises on EU competition law focusing on cartel investigations, vertical and horizontal agreements and antitrust compliance counselling. He also advises on data protection and cyber security for different industry sectors including TMT, financial services, life sciences and biotechnology.

He is regularly invited to participate as a speaker in business and legal conferences in Europe and the United States and is often published in all of the above areas of law. He has served as a guest lecturer in many Universities in Europe and the Americas on issues of comparative campaign finance law, sovereign debt restructuring and constitutional law.

While at law school, Orestis was a moot court and law review member.
