Thomas Sterckx is experienced in town and zone planning, urban development, environmental law and administrative law.

In his capacity as a lawyer, Thomas has worked on complex cases regarding town and zone planning and environmental law and has advised both public authorities and private initiators. As such, he has acquired vast experience in the areas of planning and permit projects, both in conducting proceedings and advising public authorities and entrepreneurs from the early concept stages.

Between 2014-2017 Thomas was the legal counsel of the Flemish Minister of Environment, Nature and Agriculture, Ms. Joke Schauvliege. Thomas helped initiating the new environmental permit (known as 'de omgevingsvergunning') and assisted with the elaboration of the complex projects decree and numerous other innovations in regulations.
