After the French Government revealed the five draft executive ordinances issued pursuant to the Law authorizing the consolidation of social dialogue on 31 August 2017, the law was fully validated by the French Constitutional Council (Conseil Constitutionnel) on 7 September. The orders were adopted during the Council of Ministers (Conseil des ministres) on 22 September. In order to enter into force, the ordinances must now be ratified by the French Parliament and presented to the Council of Ministers in November this year. Around 20 decrees should be published before the end of the year for effective implementation on 1 January 2018.
These ordinances lay the groundwork for revamping France’s social model as announced during the Presidential campaign.
